Ayahuasca Between Two Worlds
Ayahuasca, an indigenous medicine with purgative and visionary properties, was considered until recently a matter of superstition or witchcraft. Today it is ritually consumed in any Western city, is the subject of scientific research that points to its great therapeutic potential, and merits laudatory pages in mainstream publications around the world.
Ayahuasca Between Two Worlds, a photographic essay carried out over more than fifteen years of fieldwork, undertakes a journey to the origin of this singular phenomenon to document both traditional practices and those adapted to the thousands of Westerners who visit the jungle each year with the specific objective of having a shamanic experience.
